The Emigrants
A contemporary interpretation of the novel “The Emigrants” by Vilhelm Moberg. During the European migrant crisis in 2015, the news was filled with photographs of people fleeing in overfilled boats. Many of them wearing a bright orange colored life vest. I found it interesting to draw parallels between what took place in Sweden in the mid 19th century and the current events, in this translated version of a Swedish classic.
